Hawaii Governor Lingle Signs Athlete Agent Act

Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle signed House Bill 275, the Uniform Athlete Agent Act, on July 3rd. The new law will take effect July 1, 2008. The Act mostly mirrors the model Uniform Athlete Agent Act and includes a civil penalty of $25,000 for each offense and in case you cared "each day's violation or failure to comply shall be deemed a separate offense". I'll take a closer look at the act in the next few days.
